Pierre Deschamps
Pierre Deschamps graduated in Law from McGill University, after obtaining
a degree in Religious Studies from the Université de Montréal. He is a member
of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Associate Director of Research
(Law and Health Section) at McGill University's Research Centre in Private
and Comparative Law. He also holds an appointment as Assistant Professor
in the university's Faculty of Law, where he teaches human rights.
Mr. Pierre Deschamps serves on Research Ethics Boards at the Institut de cardiologie de Montréal and in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. He is the principal author of the Report on Control Mechanisms in Clinical Research in Québec, also known as the Deschamps Report. In 2000, Mr. Deschamps was made a member of the Order of Canada for his voluntary work. He also received the Canadian Bar Association President's Award, Quebec section.
